Intro/Refresher Handgun: Dec 7th 8:30 AM

Service Description

Accessible to the student that needs an introduction, perfect for the shooter that wants a refresher. This course will be held exclusively on the range: no indoor learning. We will focus on safe gun handling, the cycle of fire and the eight steps to make a great shot. For those who are borrowing a handgun from us: we start with one basic model but will alternate if it seems you would benefit from different ergonomics. Additionally, if time permits we will try to get a selection of different guns into student's hands for background on future purchases. What's covered: Situational Awareness Trigger finger discipline: positive verbiage to help you learn Muzzle Management: it's simpler than you think Skills taught: How to load and unload a semiautomatic handgun (or your revolver if you bring one) How to effectively lock a slide open How to verify that the gun is unloaded Shooting: eight steps to make a good shot What's required of you: A good, teachable, supportive attitude Ability to focus on verbal instruction Ability to stand for long periods with only periodic rests Equipment requirements: None We will bring enough gear for all students free of charge: Ammunition is extra Ammunition will be available in 9mm Luger for $14 for a box of 50 rounds We do not typically exceed 50 rounds in this course Equipment recommendations: Eye and Ear protection A modern reliable semi automatic handgun or revolver 2 Magazines or speed loaders 50 rounds of ammunition for your gun Clothing and environmental considerations: Please keep track of the weather forecast Dress appropriately for the day; a warm hat and layered clothing for cold weather. Light weight and light colors for warm weather if possible Shirts need to have a high neckline No open toed shoes, sandals or crocs Bring water and snacks as needed Sunglasses and hats are recommended
